New for 2020

While no one knows the future, we do have tools that can help us to design and test different views of organization strategy. In this course, you’ll learn how to design and discern the best path forward using a variety of helpful approaches, including hypothesis-driven strategy, design thinking, and methods of assessing success using robust data analytics. We will work through a number of different cases of companies who have done this in their own strategy, but more critically give you a tool kit by which you can help your teams do this same kind of work in their own strategic design.

  • Design thinking in strategy formulation
  • “Mutually exclusive and collectively exhaustive” (MECE) framework
  • Testing and evaluating new ideas

  • Apply the frameworks of design thinking to strategy formulation
  • Develop a practice of careful hypothesis thinking as applied to a set of mutually exclusive and collectively exhaustive (MECE) novel paths forward
  • Use the MECE method to find and consider multiple potential solutions in order to select the path with the best potential for success
  • Set-up methods to analytically test early indicates of strategic success, and know how to effectively pivot when the strategy requires adjustment
