Thought Leadership: Creativity from Constraints with Professor Markus Baer

Creativity is often assumed to flourish in the absence of constraints or boundaries. In fact, the removal of constraints is typically thought of as a reliable strategy to enhance creativity. Washington University’s Professor Markus Baer will discuss scientific and anecdotal evidence that casts doubt on this widely-held assumption. In addition, he will offer some concrete guidance as to how to use constraints constructively. Professor Baer is a leading expert in the area of creativity and innovation and has won numerous accolades across the globe including recognition as one of the world’s top 40 business professors under 40.
