Joseph Martinich likes to read about science and history, is an avid volleyball player, and dabbles in golf.

Joseph Martinich is Professor Emeritus of Supply Chain and Analytics at the University of Missouri - St. Louis. He has worked with businesses on lean production, waste reduction, recycling, energy efficiency, and air quality management. Dr. Martinich is the author of two books and numerous professional articles and technical reports. His articles have appeared in leading journals, such as the <i>American Economic Review</i>, <i>Journal of Regional Science</i>, <i>Decision Sciences</i>, <i>European Journal of Operational Research</i>, <i>Naval Research Logistics</i>, and the <i>International Journal of Production Research</i>. His technical reports include recycling economic information studies of Missouri and the St. Louis and Kansas City Metro areas. Dr. Martinich has chaired the Energy and Environment Committee for the City of Creve Coeur, and he serves on the materials and recycling steering committee for OneSTL, a regional environmental planning group, and on an Advisory Board for Renew Missouri. Dr. Martinich currently teaches courses on lean production and the environmental aspects of business operations. He holds B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences from Northwestern University and an MA in Economics from California State University-Fullerton.
