“The EMBA staff made all elements of the program flow as smoothly as possible, which was especially important when I was traveling and juggling day-to-day job and family responsibilities.”
Executive MBA program takeaways
Froelich, who refers to himself as a “recovering accountant and auditor,” is the former CFO of a small IT company in Kansas City. During the credit crisis, he felt strong in his areas of expertise but not in his ability to create a long-term business strategy. He wanted a more expansive skill set and broader management opportunities.
“The Executive MBA program empowered me to solve problems that I think are important and to approach challenges with the right decision-making framework. At Teachers-Teachers, that entails delivering value to our education clients, pricing products intelligently, and determining the best strategy to drive development of solutions.”
A boost in confidence and competence
“I’m a lot more confident now because I understand the perspectives of the people in the room. I can anticipate what their concerns are going to be and make sure the solutions we develop create value.
“Being able to put different facets of business together means I can make the decisions that need to be made with the right rationale. I make choices I wasn’t equipped to make before, which enables me to be a better leader and, hopefully, a better person.”
High-touch faculty and staff
“I was surprised by the engagement level of the Executive MBA faculty. They were uniformly open and interested in helping us acquire and apply knowledge. They also were always accessible before, during, and after classes.
“The EMBA staff was professional; consistently friendly; and, to a person, energetic. They made all elements of the program flow as smoothly as possible, which was especially important when I was traveling and juggling day-to-day job and family responsibilities.”
