Mike Jenkins is an Adjunct Lecturer in cybersecurity at the Olin School of Business, Washington University in St. Louis. His research and teaching are centered around the areas of cybersecurity operations, best practices, and leadership. His current course is entitled “Introduction to Cybersecurity.”Mike is a retired U.S. Air Force Officer, having served worldwide in a variety of increasingly responsible information technology and cybersecurity leadership positions. He was the first Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at the United States Transportation Command, where he led operations supporting the security and availability of global transportation systems. Under his leadership the organization was recognized as the best cybersecurity organization in the U.S. Department of Defense.Mike is currently an adjunct staff member at the Institute for Defense Analyses, Systems and Analyses Center, a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) supporting the Department of Defense. He holds professional certifications from the International Council of Electronic Commerce Consultants as a certified Chief Information Security Officer, and the International Information System Security Certification Consortium as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Management Professional, and Engineering Professional. Mike’s interests include being a musician, computing technology, and a variety of activities with his family.
