Personal Interests:
Sundari lives with her spouse, Radha Gopalan and their two children in St. Louis, MO. In her spare time, Sundari enjoys container gardening, working with clay, and tennis.

Sundari Balan is a research psychologist teaching Managerial Statistics at the Olin Business School. She is originally from India and moved to Ann Arbor, MI to pursue her doctoral degree in psychology. After completing a National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) post-doctoral fellowship in substance use epidemiology and prevention research from the Washington University School of Medicine, she worked as Statistical Data Analyst and Research Analyst at the Washington University School of Medicine and the St. Louis Family Court respectively. Using quantitative and qualitative methods her publications span cultural stereotypes (model minority, masculinity), mental health, substance use and workplace adjustment among immigrant women, US war veterans, at risk youth and minority populations. She has taught Cross Cultural Psychology, Organizational Psychology, Psychology of Women, Intergroup dialoguing, Introductory & Advanced Data & Information Management in the Health Sciences.
