Olin Dean Mark P. Taylor hosted a “fireside chat” and relief drive in support of Ukraine on April 6, coming amid the crushing invasion Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered. Putin’s actions have drawn near-global condemnation and punishing economic sanctions that have laid waste to the Russian economy.
Two Washington University authorities joined Taylor, the Donald Danforth Jr. Distinguished Professor of Finance, for “Ukraine: The Invasion and Fallout,” bringing distinct perspectives to the conversation:
- James Wertsch, WashU’s David R. Francis Distinguished Professor of Sociocultural Anthropology and Global Studies, is a published expert on the topics of national narratives and memory and the former Soviet Union.
- Olin’s Lingxiu Dong, Frahm Family Chair of Supply Chain, Operations and Technology, is a published authority on global supply chain issues and operations.
The event was live in Emerson Auditorium and virtual.
