Give WashU Olin-inspired gifts this season
Stumped at what to buy for that hard-to-please person on your holiday gift list? Consider a unique gift with WashU Olin flair.
Olin’s Center for Experiential Learning (CEL) and the university’s Skandalaris Center for Interdisciplinary Innovation and Entrepreneurship have compiled holiday gift guides that allow you to take your generosity to the next level.
The CEL connects students with real-world consulting projects with clients, many of them businesses in the St. Louis area. The center’s first-ever gift guide features those clients’ products: clothing and accessories, entertainment, food and beverages, health and beauty, and household items.
Pick out a book at The Novel Neighbor. Maybe a nice lunch at Burger 809. Or tween fashion at EllieViv. When you do, you’re supporting Olin community partners.
The Skandalaris Center assists student entrepreneurs from across WashU with their startup ambitions, providing resources and guidance that move them from ideas to actual businesses.
Many of these businesses are included in the 2024 WashU Startup Holiday Gift Guide, which connects shoppers to WashU alumni entrepreneurs. Like the CEL guide, it covers a range of gift ideas.
For example, check out fine footwear by Thursday Boot Co., cofounded by Nolan Walsh, BSBA 2010. Or African beauty products from Sanïndou, founded by Fanta Kaba, MBA 2021. There are also gift ideas from current students’ businesses in the Student Enterprise Program (StEP), such as Prolific Kickz, a campus athletic shoe store run by Kevin Chen, BSBA 2026.
