Casey Dugan, Executive MBA

Casey Dugan
EMBA 2012
Director of Pharmacy Services
Children’s Hospital Colorado
“Executive MBA classes are taught by the best-of-the-best faculty.”
“An EMBA degree from Washington University is so much more than letters behind your name. The program attracts people who already have achieved success and, as a result, provides a powerful professional network.”
Advancing his career in the Mile High City
Dugan graduated from Olin’s Executive MBA program in St. Louis and “moved to Denver looking for opportunity.” He brought his EMBA knowledge and tools to Children’s Hospital Colorado, where he has “seven to eight direct reports and 130 indirect reports.”
Dugan says, “Olin prepared me to take the next step in my career by making me a more effective leader, with stronger ‘soft’ skills and a better understanding of organizational behavior and change management. Now, I think of myself as a supportive coach who helps employees tie what they do on the job to the hospital’s mission and values.”
Spreading the word on the quality of the EMBA program
Dugan helped recruit new members, telling participants at an Executive MBA program “fact-finding dinner” why he chose Olin and what differentiates the EMBA program in the marketplace.
“An EMBA degree from Washington University is so much more than letters behind your name. The degree has great name recognition, reinforced by program rankings that carry weight. Courses are designed to meet the needs of today’s executives and explore the latest-and-greatest management information. So the program attracts people who already have achieved success and, as a result, provides a powerful professional network.”
Students learn from the “best-of-the-best” faculty
Another advantage Dugan talks about is the caliber of EMBA professors. “Executive MBA classes are taught by the best-of-the-best faculty. Professors are internationally known experts in their fields, and they genuinely respect their students. You’re never treated like a number in the EMBA program.”
