Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis, in partnership with the Brookings Institution, has designed the Master of Science in Leadership (MSL) degree to develop leaders for service as senior federal executives. The program combines the business acumen of Olin faculty with the Brookings Institution’s research and policy expertise. The MS in Leadership degree is an executive-level master’s degree designed for working professionals. As an MSL student you will have a great deal of flexibility to determine your pace of study. Individuals enrolled in the program are matriculated students of the top-ranked Washington University in St. Louis
Master of Science in Leadership course work
The majority of courses are held at the Brookings Institution. Each DC-based course is conducted as a short (typically two-day) module. In addition to courses at the Brookings Institution, you also will attend two, week-long residential courses in St. Louis.
Build competency in OPM ECQs
While pursuing the Executive Master of Science in Leadership degree, you will demonstrate your proficiency within each of the Office of Personnel Management’s (OPM) Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs), a set of competencies necessary for senior government executives called to solve complex agency- and government-wide problems. By the end of the program, our students demonstrate mastery of the federal government’s ECQs.
