Support Going Forward
Consider these opportunities for parents to engage with the WashU community.
Your son or daughter is about to enter a new phase of life – and so are you, especially if this is your first or only child leaving home for school. It’s a bittersweet but exciting rite of passage. You want to do everything possible to ensure he or she flourishes in the new environment and, at the same time, build his or her independence and self-reliance.
The BSBA team understands this time of transition and can direct you and your student to helpful information and support. In addition, you and your entire family are encouraged to engage with the Olin community. The business school sponsors activities during Spotlight Weekend, orientation, and Parent and Family Weekend.
Volunteer for university organizations and events
If you haven’t done so already, spend a few minutes on the parents section of Washington University’s website. It introduces you to First Year Center services and events and Parent Programs.
You may be interested in joining the Alumni and Parents Admission Program, a group that helps the university recruit and enroll talented students and connects these parents around the world.
You also can host receptions for prospective or current students and their families, and contact new students’ parents to welcome them to the university community.
