The same high standards, with greater flexibility.
Our Professional MBA program has the same high academic standards, professors, and courses as our full-time MBA program. The biggest difference is that you can take what you learn each evening or Saturday and apply it immediately to your job. We focus on a collaborative learning environment not only among students, but also among faculty and staff.
Core + Electives
Our curriculum is made up of 24 credits of core classes and 30 credit hours of electives. Together, they ensure you will obtain an absolute command of all functional disciplines and the ability to apply those skills to complex, unstructured business problems.
Start with the core and advance from there.
During your first four semesters (summer included) you’ll dive into intense, comprehensive, and challenging Core courses. They’re essential not only because they lay the groundwork in the fundamental areas of business – marketing, accounting, finance, strategy, and more — but because they’re based on the latest research and practices, and they are immediately applicable to today’s business challenges.
You’ll take these core classes with your entering cohort. Within that group, we’ll place you in smaller teams of four to five peers. These teams are designed to complement everyone’s professional and educational experience and expertise.
An unmatched 30 hours of electives.
No other local university allows you as much freedom to delve into the areas that interest you most. Complete a total of 24 credit hours of core classes, and the remaining 30 hours are up to you.
Your choice. Your speed.
You’re driven. That’s why we offer electives over a wide range of days and times. You can speed up the program and finish your electives sooner rather than later. Evening students are able to finish in less than three years, and Saturday students in as little as two years.
Monday through Thursday, plus Saturday options. Electives are offered Monday through Thursday evenings. And starting in January 2017, we will offer electives on Saturday mornings and afternoons.
Weekender and weeklong electives. With these options you can immerse yourself in topics in a concentrated time period. Take what you learn one week or even one weekend, and apply it next Monday morning.
- Weekenders = 1.5 credit hours, Friday through Sunday on select weekends. These will be scheduled on weekends in which core PMBA classes are not in session (in between semesters/mini terms) so Saturday students have an opportunity to enroll
- Week-long elective courses = 3 credit hours between semesters
