Getting Involved and Making Connections

Classes Drive Success

Olin’s program emphasizes the practical application of cutting-edge tools and technologies, such as machine learning, deep learning, Python, Tableau, Alteryx, Hadoop and Structured Query Language (SQL), to solve real-world financial problems. This approach ensures that students not only understand the theoretical aspects of finance but also gain proficiency in utilizing advanced software and methodologies for financial case analyses. The challenging and innovative quantitative finance program has been instrumental in my growth as a finance professional.

For Prospective Students

Opportunities and challenges coexist in Olin’s dynamic environment. Be proactive, passionate and persistent in overcoming challenges, and seek out hidden opportunities, which won’t always come knocking on your door.

Being active in clubs, and networking events and projects will help you grow professionally and expand your connections.

Don’t hesitate to support your peers: The relationships you build with your classmates today could turn into valuable connections in the future. Most of the faculty, staff and fellow students know me by name. Through my involvement in various clubs, councils and events, I have had the opportunity to interact with a diverse range of people at Olin, and I’ve made efforts to provide academic assistance and career advice whenever possible, or simply to lend a sympathetic ear.
